ABB (Power-One) Aurora web inverter monitor (WIM): repair E013 error – 11

Spread the love

I find the Web Invert Monitor very usefully to check the production, but It’s very important when the inverter have problems.

So last week my inverter start to send me some error messages…

ABB Power One Aurora Inverter Web Inverter Centraline email of E013 error
ABB Power One Aurora Inverter Web Inverter Centraline email of E013 error

ok, a lot of error messages.

I went to check on the inverter if I had any reports:

ABB PowerOne Aurora Inverter Web Inverter Centraline display E031 error
ABB PowerOne Aurora Inverter Web Inverter Centraline display E031 error

and I found the infamous error E013.

I start to search on internet the solution, and I found a lot of article about that, the problem is quite simple to manage, the relay was broken.

So I turned everything off:

ABB PowerOne Aurora inverter detail start disassemble
ABB PowerOne Aurora inverter detail start disassemble

And I started taking apart my inverter, by removing the frontal panel:

ABB PowerOne Aurora inverter remove panel and detach cable
ABB PowerOne Aurora inverter remove panel and detach cable

Than remove all the cables, and remove the screw to the bottom, when remove It you can pull up the inverter and take it away:

ABB PowerOne Aurora inverter holder screw

Place the corpse of your inverter on a face down plane:

ABB PowerOne Aurora inverter remove screw to the back
ABB PowerOne Aurora inverter remove screw to the back

Remove all the screw you can see to the back:

ABB PowerOne Aurora inverter remove screw to the edge of the holder of the board
ABB PowerOne Aurora inverter remove screw to the edge of the holder of the board

Then remove the screws on the corners of the board panel:

ABB PowerOne Aurora inverter remove wire from the main board
ABB PowerOne Aurora inverter remove wire from the main board

And you detach the main board from the panel:

ABB PowerOne Aurora inverter check the relay fired
ABB PowerOne Aurora inverter check the relay fired

Now you can check the problem, probably you find a burned part and one or more hole in the board,

ABB PowerOne Aurora inverter fired relay

you can check the burned relay from the top also:

For replacement I order good quality relays, panasonic JTN1AS-PA-F-DC12V which are a good and safer alternative to Zettler.

ABB PowerOne Aurora inverter relay panasonic JTN1AS-PA-F-DC12V
ABB PowerOne Aurora inverter relay panasonic JTN1AS-PA-F-DC12V

You can find here Aliexpress Panasonic JTN1AS-PA-F-DC12V

So you must desoldering the old relay, and install the new:

ABB PowerOne Aurora inverter new panasonic relay mounted up
ABB PowerOne Aurora inverter new panasonic relay mounted up

To fix the hole you must add some copper wire and do a big bubble of tin for soldering:

My friend Pierluigi is an artits on this type of soldering, and he offered to do it for me, for sure the result was better than what I could have done.

ABB PowerOne Aurora inverter insulation sheet

And he give me some insulation sheet to prevent the board touch the base, but now let’s start putting everything back together:

ABB PowerOne Aurora inverter start reassembling

And finally:

the light return, and I can see the smile on the Web Inverter Monitor again.
